Stacks and cards: share what you read, beautifully

Gather books into a stack you can share with a link, or design a card for any book with covers, colours, fonts and stickers.

A great book deserves better than a screenshot of a rating. Stacked has two ways to share what you read: stacks for lists, and cards for single books.

Stacks: a list with something to say

A stack is a handful of books from your shelf, gathered around an idea — five books for autumn, what to read after Normal People, everything our club read this year. Each book carries your notes and rating, so a stack reads like a recommendation from a friend rather than a bare list.

Every stack has its own link. Anyone can open it in a browser, with or without the app, and see the covers, your ratings and your notes. Send it in a group chat, drop it in your bio, or keep it private until it’s ready.

Cards: one book, made to be posted

A card is a designed image of a single book, sized for your feed or your story. You start from the cover and make it yours:

  • Background. A soft glow taken from the cover, a blurred version of the cover, a solid colour, or your own photo — the book on your balcony, your coffee, your cat.
  • Book style. Show the cover flat, lift it with a soft or strong shadow, render it as a real book, or frame it like a polaroid. Corners can be sharp, soft or round.
  • Text. Add a line in one of eight typefaces: serif, sans, classic, book, poster, headline, typewriter or handwriting.
  • Stickers. Add your rating, or stickers like Finished, Favourite, Book club pick, Re-read, Couldn’t put it down, DNF or Gift idea, and pick a tone that suits the design.
  • Size. Square for the feed, portrait, or full-height for stories.

Save it, or post it

When the card is done, save it to Photos and share it wherever you like. Or post it to your Stacked profile, where it sits under Cards and your friends can like it and comment on it.

Cards stay private until you post them, so you can design a few, change your mind, and only show the ones you like.

A few ideas

  • Make a card the day you finish a book, while you still feel it.
  • Use the Book club pick sticker to announce your club’s next read.
  • Build a stack of your favourites of the year and pin the link in your bio.
  • Send a Gift idea card to whoever always asks what to buy you.
